Painkilling Cayenne Cream Recipe Which Is Great for Sore Muscles and Stiff Joints!

This homemade muscle rub can be done quite easy and very quickly. The chances are that you already have most of its ingredients at home, and if you don’t, they can be found at a coop or natural food store.

Cayenne Calms Muscle Pain in This Way

Capsaicin is an active ingredient of cayenne and it promotes the release of “substance P” in the human body. This substance is released from the inflammatory cells and the nerve cells of the immune system. This substance helps the body in the process of perceiving pain and it promotes the release of a number of cytokines so at to induce a healthy inflammatory response.

Moreover, cayenne dilates the blood vessels and that makes it possible for more anti-inflammatory cells to reach the affected area. Once substance P gets released and depleted, and in certain cases, like this one, when cayenne is repeatedly applied, there is pain desensitization, or in other words, the threshold of pain in the area increases.

The pain in the area is reduced and this makes it possible for you to take some steps that will help your body heal. You could try stretching, walking, physical therapy or exercise and with cayenne’s help, you will soon eliminate the pain.

This Recipe Also Contains

Coconut oil is excellent for nourishing the skin. Being antimicrobial, it is an ideal base for this rub. Moreover, this oil has proven anti-inflammatory and pain reducing properties.

Raw cocoa butter is abundant in antioxidants and excellent for nourishing the skin.

Ginger has a long history of use in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurvedic Medicine. It is warming and has natural anti-inflammatory properties. If used as a muscle rub, it is going to promote blood flow. This makes it possible for new blood to reach the area, thus bringing new immune cells.

Turmeric is a spice with a very long history due to its healing and anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric will prevent inflammation and reduce swelling. Inflammation is necessary for the healing process, but not chronic inflammation.

Peppermint Essential Oil contains menthol, which relaxes the muscles, reduces pain, and soothes muscle soreness. Peppermint has an effect which is similar to ice. The peppermint and ginger provide a nice balance. The ginger warms the area and the peppermint constricts the muscle and moves the blood along, thus eliminating waste.

Also, keep in mind that:

  1. You should rest the area. One of the biggest mistakes people do is not resting the affected area. Rest is critical for healing. Sitting with your legs up or lying down if you have low back pain will be of great help.
