Firstly, they filter out the excess water retained in the organism, eliminate the waste material through urine and detoxify the blood. Kidneys also regulate the production of red blood cells and the blood pressure. They are crucial for transporting nutrients and oxygen throughout the body.

You can experience different health issues if the function of your pair of kidneys is disrupted. Sudden pain in the body, bad breath, itchy skin, fatigue or tiredness, feeling cold most of the time, respiratory difficulties, anemia, vomiting, dizziness and  change in color and amount of urine are the most obvious symptoms that indicate kidney malfunction.

Today we will present you some factors that have negative influence on the function of your kidneys – you should stop doing them immediately:

1.Drinking Too Much Coffee

Due to the presence of caffeine in the coffee, the excessive amounts of coffee can damage your kidneys. The latest study that was conducted by “Kidney International” has shown a relation between kidney stones and excessive amounts of caffeine – it increases the calcium excretion in the urine.

2.Insuficient Water Intake

Your kidneys may start malfunctioning if you do not consume enough water. As we already mentioned above, flushing out the toxins from the body is one of the main functions of the kidneys. The blood flow to the kidneys gets reduced and the blood gets more concentrated if you do not have enough water in your body. Toxin accumulation in the body can be caused because this affects ability of the kidneys to flush out the toxins.

For proper functioning of these important organs, you should consume at least 10-12 glasses of water per day!

4.Excessive Amounts of Alcohol

Serious kidney issues can be caused by excessive amounts of alcohol. Uric acid being deposited in the renal tubules and indicate tubular obstruction due to the large amounts of alcohol. Alcohol is main reason for dehydration which can affect the normal function of the kidneys.

1 drink for seniors and women and 2 drinks for men are the recommended amounts of alcohol per day.

5.Lack Of Sleep

We all know that lack of sleep is bad for the entire body. According to the National Sleep Foundation, 6-8 are the recommended amount of sleep. Damaging effects on the long run can be caused if we sleep less than 6 hours.

The issues of your organs regenerate while you sleep. This regeneration process is significantly decreased, when you are sleep deficient, which results in kidney and other organ failure.

Atherosclerosis and hypertension can be caused by lack of sleep which actually increases the risk of kidney damage.
