People Have Started Wearing Safety Pins In Public. Wait Till You See The Reason Why!

The EU referendum results took many by surprise. If fact, the results were rather unexpected and left the British in a state of shock they are still recovering from. What most people disapprove of is the fact that this decision delivers the wrong message to immigrants in the country, who may feel less than welcome after the majority of the British population voted for Great Britain’s exit from the EU.

Whats the idea behind wearing safety pins?

It all started when a user named @cheeahs wrote on Twitter: “I’d like to come up with something that can be made by anybody anywhere to pin on their jacket or coat to signify they are an allay. A safe person to sit next to on a bus, walk next to on a street, even have a conversation with. I quite like the idea of just putting a safety pin, empty of anything else, on your coat. A literal SAFETY pin!” The imaginative idea was so appealing that it caught on immediately.

Since then, hundreds, if not thousands of people have started sharing pictures of themselves wearing a safety pin on their clothes. The idea behind this gesture is to show solidarity. However, if you think more deeply about it, there’s something really sad about the whole idea. In other words, how have we come to this? Since the referendum last week, people of no-British origin have felt really unsafe in the country.

One thing is for sure, the referendum results have caused a lot of stir worldwide and some have even called out those who voted for Britain’s exit from the EU as being racist. At the moment, the whole world is speculating on the repercussions of such a big move.
